and then there were three.

hello darlings! i'm home sick, so i think it's the perfect time for a bloggy update :)

Mr. A & I would like to announce the newest addition to our family
This little man is Kobi!
[[via: thelittleaslam: He's a Black Mouth Cur mix and he is ADORBS.]]

That's right friends, we adopted our first little furbaby and can I just say, we are in L.O.V.E. with this guy. He is such a little goob and has so much energy.
We're trying out the "crating" technique since both Mr. A & I are working full time jobs. We wore Kobi out yesterday so he only whined for a little while when we went off to bed. Other than that and the occasional "mistake" in the house, he's been pretty great so far!

Do you have a furbaby(ies)? Share some tips with Mr. A & I on different crating techniques that worked for y'all! We'll take any help we can get since we're still newbies!

I hope you are all having a fab week so far. For all my Houston bloggers, I hope y'all are loving the weather as much as I am. And if you haven't already started following our Houston Blogger site, click on the button to the left and join in on the fun :)

Until next time lovelies. XOXO - m

new challenges.

happy october (a few days too late!)

i know, i'm always a little late with my bloggy, but it's because i have been busy doing some pretty neat things lately.

as many of y'all know, i finally quit my job and moved over to a much much much better one. for the last two weeks, i have been soaking up the fun of working til early evening, going home and getting comfy, cooking and baking for A and my BIL and enjoying extra time to catch up on tv and reading. my oh my, how quickly things change! let me just say, i am LOVING this.

i've also finally found the time to get my interest back in arts & crafts! i recently became very obsessed with pinterest (thanks Michelle!) and have been pinning all sorts of cool DIY projects to try out. so far, i've learned how to make my own flower bows and my own headbands. a couple mishaps with a hot glue gun, but i've got some pretty stuff to show off ;)

i also took on a HUGE challenge this past weekend and did a 10 mile run (mind you, i trained VERY little for this run, so i was a nervous wreck). and let me just tell you, i finished that ENTIRE run. i pushed myself through all the knee pain, i told myself i could do it, i prayed hard and i made it through the whole run without stopping to walk even one time!! YAY ME! i was SO proud to cross the finish line and know that i had accomplished my goal. i don't know what it was about that run, but i am going to continue to run over the next couple of months and hope my training pays off well for the half marathon in January!

have you all been up to some really cool things lately?! have any cool DIY projects or baking items i can try out?! tell me about them!!

p.s. i'm reading a new series of books right now. look for my reviews when i'm done!
